Welcome to the Oxford University Society of Biomedical Sciences! My name is Sam and am lucky to be the society’s president this academic year. This year, OUSBMS is aiming to bring together the BMS cohorts to create cohesion between the years and nurture a strong sense of community. We’re hoping to put on social, speaker and welfare events every term, and in doing this enable richer opportunities for BMS students aside from everyday academia.

 

To be part of our society, we highly recommend buying a lifetime membership, which only costs £30. This includes access to an exclusive members-only mailing list and free entry to our termcard events. Although we do focus ourselves at BMS students, we wholeheartedly welcome students from other disciplines to sign up.

 

COVID-19 has shown this turbulent year that the microbiological world can affect everyone, so we warmly embrace anyone who wants to join to broaden their mind, with the added benefit of meeting lots of incredibly friendly BMS undergrads! I hope to see lots of you at events in Michaelmas and do feel free to contact us via email, Facebook, or Instagram.
